Guys Night Out

A little known fact about men is that they enjoy going out for a night just as much as women do. Part of the problem with men is that they tend to run a little short when it comes to ideas about just what to do when they receive permission to have a guys' night out. Where the problem usually lies is in a lack of direction.

Lack of direction is what also leads to many guys' nights out taking on a bit of a sinister undercurrent. Most guys can't get together without some form of drunkenness, violence, or sexual escapades taking place. What is it about guys' nights out that lead to this strange behaviour? We know it is strange because men don't tend to act the same way when they are out in a group that includes their wives or significant others; they also don't tend to operate in their most primitive form when singly or in pairs. The borderline behaviour usually occurs when men get together in groups, for stag parties and the like.

The reasons could be attached to our Y chromosome or they might be societal in nature. Those things are competition, alcohol, and yes, sex, even if it's just in some very watered down and untouchable form.

Because engaging in activities that our intimate female companions can never understand is at the heart of any get together among guys, finding a way to congregate without that female presence is the first step in planning a guys' night out. Whether you tell the truth, that you are going out with the guys, or lie and say a loop calibrator has gone off line at work and you need to go in and repair it, you can be assured that you will pay the price for going out at some future point. Your significant other knows that you are going to behave boorishly and will punish you detail free.
